What Is an Inclined Platform Lift?

An inclined platform lift travels along a rail mounted directly to the staircase — no shaft, no major construction. The platform carries a wheelchair user (or a seated passenger with the optional fold-down seat) up and down the stairs. When not in use, the platform folds flat against the wall so others can still use the stairs. They work indoors and outdoors, in homes and commercial buildings.

The Savaria Delta installs over a single flight of straight stairs and is suitable for both home and commercial use. The platform travels on two guide rails mounted to the stairs or adjacent wall. When not in use, it folds up to just 18 inches from the wall so the staircase stays usable for everyone. Available in multiple platform sizes including ADA-compliant options for public buildings.

The Savaria Pegasus is engineered for staircases that curve, change direction, have intermediate landings, or span multiple levels — situations where the Delta cannot be used. Rails are custom-fabricated using Savaria's PS4D precision measuring system for a perfect fit. The platform folds up compactly when not in use and can be parked out of the way at the top or bottom landing. Available indoors and outdoors in moderate climates.
